
Summer 2026 family/youth Cultural Land Use Journey: Fishing Trip # 2&3
The Samson Cree Nation Consultation Office is pleased to announce the first of three scheduled family fishing journeys for youth as part of our Cultural Land Use & Ceremonial Rejuvenation Initiative. These trips are dedicated to reconnecting with our traditional territories, sharing ancestral knowledge, and documenting our inherent rights to the land and water.
Join consultation as we visit significant harvesting sites to practice our traditions and ensure our presence is recognized.
Trip Details
Date: next trip August 13-15 (last trip exact dates TBA)
Limited to four families per trip (family units of four)
Individual participants can apply
Location: next trip Lac La Biche, last trip TBA
Meals will be provided (bring you own snacks)
These fishing trips are a vital part of our effort to:
Support community in accessing traditional lands.
Document the cultural and historical significance of our fishing sites through GIS, audio and photography.
Reinforce Samson Cree Nation’s inherent rights and Treaty interests.Transmit cultural knowledge to the next generation.
