
Duties and Responsibilities:

From 7:30 am to 4:30 am, assist with inspections

Responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of heavy equipment and trucks, including repairing equipment and trucks when needed

Responsibility for learning how to assist in changing blades, wings, ripper teeth, sheer pins, seized grease points, lights, fuses, air and fuel filters, wipers, tires, tire chains, prime a diesel engine, tighten belts, replace hydraulic hoses, fluid checks and test

Report and document any repairs and file accordingly

The main goal is to try to keep costs down for the department

Must be willing to work overtime when required

Must read maintenance manuals for daily, weekly, and monthly checks, including grease intervals with up-to-date maintenance documentation

Report to manager when required to do so
Qualifications:

A Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate would be an asset, but is not necessary
-
Class 3 and/or Class 1 driver’s license would be an asset, but not necessary,
-
Must have the capability to operate all heavy equipment.

Must have heavy duty mechanic certificate/experience in the mechanics of heavy equipment/trucks
